2027 ICTMD Executive Board Election - Candidate Statements

We are pleased to announce the 2027 election of the ICTMD Executive Board!

The Nomination Committee of the 2027 Election is formed by Sylvia Bruinders (South Africa, convener), Mohamad Hassan (Syria), and Pedro Acosta (Brazil).

 

CANDIDATES

The following candidates were selected by the Nomination Committee from proposals made by ICTMD National Committees and by individual ICTMD members from at least two different countries for each proposal. All members of the Executive Board are elected for a term lasting until the second General Assembly of Members after their term has begun (typically four years), and are eligible for re‐election only once (see Statute 7.2 for details).

 

Candidates for Ordinary EB Members (2027–2031)

There are six vacancies among the Ordinary Members of the Executive Board. Out of the list of 13 candidates, you will be able to choose up to six candidates.

There is one vacancy for Vice President. Out of the list of two candidates, you will be able to choose one candidate.

VOTING PROCEDURE

The voting will be conducted via Election Runner, the third party voting platform the Council has been using since 2019.

 

On 8 October 2026, all ICTMD members in good standing will receive an email that will allow voting with a unique username and password. Voting will be open until 8 January 2027 at 23:59:59 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). The results of the election will be announced during the 47th General Assembly of Members in January 2027.

 

All members are urged to participate in the election, as a large turnout is a clear indication that members want to engage in the governance of the Council.
