Recently, the MEA 2020 Local Arrangements Committee (LAC) announced their decision to withdraw as Symposium host, given the continued spread of the coronavirus and the concomitant challenges to health and travel plans, the future uncertainty, and related financial considerations.
Out of concern for members' safety, and considering potential difficulties with local and international travel, other issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the withdrawal of the host for the 2020 Symposium, the Executive Committee has decided to postpone the 7th Symposium (originally scheduled for 27–29 August, 2020) to the summer of 2022 at a new venue yet to be determined.
The suggested themes for the rescheduled meeting will remain the same as those in the Call for Papers for the 7th Symposium. MEA members who have already submitted an abstract and others wishing to participate must re-submit their proposals for review.
The MEA Executive Committee will identify a new venue for the 7th Symposium and provide updates with information on new dates and host institution.
