During its 2017 meeting, the ICTM Executive Board decided to conduct a general survey of ICTM members in 2018. A first draft questionnaire, prepared jointly by the Secretariat and the Executive Group, was presented to the Executive Board during its 2018 meeting. The proposal was thoroughly reviewed, and a special committee (formed by Salwa El-Shawan Castelo-Branco, Naila Ceribašić, Miguel A. García, Ursula Hemetek, J. Lawrence Witzleben, and Carlos Yoder) was appointed to oversee the implementation of an online survey based on the questionnaire.

The First General Survey of ICTM Members was conducted from 6 November to 6 December 2018. Out of 1301 eligible members, 308 (24%) participated in it. Since answering was not mandatory, the amount of responses varied from question to question.

In May 2019, the Secretariat circulated to ICTM members a report on the analysis of the survey's results. That file can be accessed on the Your Account section of this website. 

A second survey was conducted in November-December 2020.
